Reclaim Control and Confidence Through Hypnosis
At Hobart Modern Hypnosis, we specialise in helping individuals overcome debilitating phobias, fears, and panic attacks. Whether it’s a fear of spiders, heights, public speaking, or unexpected panic episodes, our tailored hypnosis sessions aim to address the root cause and empower you to live freely and confidently.

Understanding Phobias and Panic Attacks
Phobias and panic attacks can significantly impact daily life, limiting experiences and causing distress. Common issues we address include:
- Specific Phobias: Fear of animals, flying, heights, needles, etc.
- Social Phobias: Fear of public speaking, social interactions, or being judged.
- Panic Attacks: Sudden episodes of intense fear accompanied by physical symptoms like rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, or dizziness.
These reactions often stem from subconscious patterns that can be effectively addressed through hypnosis.
How Hypnosis Can Help
Hypnosis works by accessing the subconscious mind, where deep-seated fears and automatic responses reside. Our approach focuses on:
- Identifying Triggers: Understanding the subconscious origins of your fear or panic.
- Reprogramming Responses: Replacing fear-based reactions with calm and controlled responses.
- Building Confidence: Enhancing self-assurance in situations that previously triggered fear.
Our experienced practitioners tailor each session to your unique needs, ensuring a compassionate and effective treatment plan.
I have a close relative who has a chronic illness and who started to suffer from panic attacks. This relative had been seeing a Psychologist for 2 years and they still did not appear to have any tools to deal with situations themselves. It appeared looking from the outside that they were becoming co-dependent upon the Psychologist. The panic attacks started and after the 4 th episode I recommended hypnosis (having had it years ago myself). What a change this made to my relative, no panic attacks, very confident, and could deal with very stressful situations, even I was amazed. I would recommend this path way of hypnosis to anyone who wants control of their own life back and wants to lead an independent life. I cannot stress it enough, don’t wait just try it.

How does hypnosis help with phobias and fears?
Hypnosis works by accessing the subconscious mind — where fear responses are formed and stored. It helps you reframe past experiences, calm overactive fight-or-flight responses, and replace fear with calm, rational thinking.
What kinds of fears or phobias can hypnosis treat?
We help clients overcome a wide range of fears and phobias, including:
- Fear of flying, heights, needles, or animals
- Social phobia or fear of public speaking
- Driving anxiety
- Claustrophobia or agoraphobia
- Panic attacks with no clear trigger
If your fear feels irrational or automatic, hypnosis can help.
How many sessions will I need?
That depends on the nature and severity of the fear. Many clients experience relief in 2–4 sessions, especially with specific phobias. For complex anxiety or panic disorder, a short series of sessions may be more effective.
Will I relive traumatic memories during hypnosis?
Not necessarily. While we explore subconscious patterns, the goal is to do so gently, safely, and without re-traumatising. We focus on changing the emotional response, not just rehashing past experiences.
Can hypnosis stop panic attacks?
Yes. Many clients report a significant reduction or complete elimination of panic attacks after hypnosis. By calming the nervous system and reprogramming the automatic fear response, you can learn to feel safe and in control again.
Will I be unconscious or out of control?
No. During hypnosis, you remain aware, in control, and able to respond. It’s a relaxed, focused state, not sleep or mind control. You can pause or stop the session at any time.
Is hypnosis safe for anxiety?
Absolutely. Hypnosis is a gentle, non-invasive, drug-free approach that helps reduce anxiety, improve resilience, and build lasting coping skills. It’s been used successfully for decades in clinical and therapeutic settings.
